as a Mavericks fan who was pissed that Mark Cuban gave away almost every tradeable asset he had to get Jason Kidd, I hate to see that Brandon Rush could possibly fall to what would have been our draft pick.

Being as though we need a swingman-shooter, but Josh Howard has got to go anyway, so maybe we can get a draft pick for him, this draft is deep apparently.

IMO, the Kidd trade was a bad move on the Mavs part. Devin Harris was a developing point guard. Watch him become a star now with  the Nets.

also, hard to imagine the suns choosing to take donte green instead of lawson...if they have dantoni still, lawson fits their team a hell of a lot better, and the larger need to fill is a backup for nash down the line

Derrick Rose is a better fit for the Heat in regards to what the team is trying to do in their rebuilding process. Also, Rose would fill an immediate need for the Heat, something drafting Beasley would not do. If the Heat pick first they will take Rose, if they fall to second and Rose is gone they will or at least should trade out and try to fill other needs with another player because there is no one better than Rose- Beasley in my mind is overrated.

Dude, you have the team orders messed up. The Kings will get a better draft spot then the Blazers, unless they get lucky again and get the 1, 2, or 3 spot.

yo guys--couple thoughts:

1. they did their own lottery, meaning they simulated that process, so in no way shape or form is this indicative of how the order WILL be, rather, it's an example of what COULD happen...that having been said i'm pretty sure this lottery would result in clippers/heat/t-wolves and then sonics/grizzlies/knicks/bucks/bobcats/bulls/nets/pacers, kings/blazers/warriors.

2. rose is definitely what the heat want, BUT, their simulation had the clippers slotted in at #1 [which, i believe, is about a 7-8% chance]. imagine the clippers with a healthy kaman/brand/maggette/mobley/rose and thornton coming off the bench...that team vaults back into the playoffs, absolutely zero doubt about it if they're healthy. they're definitely taking rose if they get that number one spot, and they're gonna be *GREAT*.

having pointed out the reordering of the lineup, i feel obliged to go ahead and toss a re-up of a mock out there, so here:

clippers: rose [duh]
heat: beasley [not the best fit but hey, now marion's expendable. go get a point guard]
wolves: o.j. mayo [they can really use another scorer from the backcourt, and if mccants and foye come out strong next year this team could be vastly improved..i don't think they take brook lopez because oj's got more upside and they've got jefferson/smith/gomes down low]
sonics: brook lopez [they can use a point guard, but they're gonna need a tower of their own...point guard prospects will be around at a later pick]
grizz: deandre jordan [earlier than most would project, but they've got navarro and conley in that backcourt already; they desperately need to replace pau's presence down low, jordan could help]
knicks: jerryd bayless [he dropped this far, the knicks will take him to supplement crawford...nate robinson's been inconsistent.]
bucks: eric gordon [even if sampson wasn't on this coaching staff, this is the pick to make; they've already got a solid frontcourt, their best chance of getting better at this point is getting eric and seeing what he can do at the next level.]
bobcats: anthony randolph [they need a big fella; they can afford to develop a big because of the nazr trade, so going after randolph makes sense. eight is about the right spot for him, too.]
bulls: this is next to impossible to predict due to variables so i'll just say i personally think they should be targeting an upgrade at point guard, i'll go with the best one on the board, which would be augustin of texas
nets: kevin love [don't think this is a wise pick at this point, but of all the point guards in the lottery, you gotta think devin harris would benefit as much as anyone from those outlet passes]
pacers: westbrook [point guard inconsistency has been a struggle for them lately, and who knows what tinsley's status will be next year. does anyone think travis diener is the answer?]
kings: marresse speights [question here is whether they want to add onto their already crammed wing positions or their already crammed post ones. their post players are worse.]
blazers: danilo gallinari [actually a 6'9 scorer and not a point guard, portland should be drooling at the opportunity to add instant offense to their lineup. roy and the big guys are looking great, supplementing their already strong rotation with outlaw and webster makes this team a force to be reckoned with. keep in mind, though, that if they see something they like in the point guard prospects or if augustin or westbrook falls here they'll snatch them up in a second]
warriors: kosta kuofos [they need rebounding, he fits their style, and they've already got one guy named kosta, so what's one more?]
